Mediation & Collaborative Law

Both Collaborative Law and Mediation are less adversarial means to resolve disputes than traditional litigation. In mediation, the Mediator assists the parties to negotiate their own resolution. The Mediator does not make a decision regarding the dispute, and does not "take sides". The goal of mediation is for both parties to arrive at a solution that they can agree to. Collaborative Law is an innovative way to resolve disputes, and is primarily used in family law, although it can be used for other practices. Both parties are represented by counsel, and issues are resolved through a series of four-way meetings. The process is intentionally transparent and goal oriented, meaning that both the parties and counsel agree to work together to find a workable solution to problems, and, most importantly, the parties agree not to go to court. Depending on the needs of the parties and issues to be resolved, other professional "neutrals" may be part of the process to deal with financial or custody matters. If this option sounds like a good fit for your situation, please contact us for more information. The following attorney practices Mediation & Collaborative Law:
